The term “Only Begotten Son” is one that originates in the New Testament – appearing five times. Jesus, Christ, Good Shepherd, Lamb of God, Mediator, Light of the World, and True Vine, are also New Testament names/titles for the Savior. None of these appear in the Old Testament at any time, yet each of them appears anachronistically in the Book of Mormon.

Similarly, “Resurrection” and “Baptism” are concepts which do not appear in the Old Testament, yet surprisingly are mentioned during Old Testament Times in the western hemisphere of the Book of Mormon.

These titles and concepts are not only foreign to Jewish tradition, but the assumption they were present during this time at all is blasphemous to Orthodoxy.
