There is metaphoric irony about the inclusion of ‘Popcorn Popping’ in the Primary Children’s Songbook.

Although the intent of this fun tune is to lighten the mood & give children a break from the mostly subtle indoctrination of Primary, the song addresses the truth behind the myth of Mormonism in a sentence that is normally sung with the waving of an un-approving finger.
