According to the Book of Mormon, during Christ’s visit to America, he commanded the people to kneel (3 Nephi 17:13 & 19:16), and even commanded the disciples to pray (3 Nephi 19:17; another command to pray can be found in Mosiah 26:39, and D&C 19:28). Jesus even commanded them to pray and to NOT pray in the same verse (3 Nephi 20:1).

There are no New Testament instances where Jesus Christ commands anyone to kneel or pray, and this type of compulsion seems genuinely out of character, based on what has been written about his earthly ministry in the old world.
