Over the past few decades, the LDS Church’s new membership growth has steadily declined. During the 1990s, annual growth hovered around 3.95%, falling to 2.29% in the 2000s. In the first half of the next decade, it dipped slightly lower to 2.14%. Notably, in 2014, growth reached its modern low at 1.92%.

Recent data confirms continued moderation: 2023 saw a 1.49% growth, followed by a slight dip to 1.47% in 2024.
