Mormons believe that in 1820, God declared all existing religions to be wrong, their creeds abominable, and their professors corrupt. They also teach that only those baptized in their faith can attain the highest degree of heaven, as Mormonism is God’s only fully true Church.
The essential saving ordinances include baptism, confirmation, Melchizedek Priesthood ordination, the endowment (including washing and anointing), and sealing. Without these, one cannot dwell in God’s presence. Baptism in the LDS Church is required for full salvation, though those in lower kingdoms are still freed from Satan’s power and, in that sense, are saved. However, to live directly with God, one must be baptized into Mormonism.
