The history presented by the LDS Church has been so sanitized, suppressed, and altered that it is largely fictional. Obtaining an accurate historical perspective from LDS sources is challenging.

Thus, it’s absurd to claim that the only credible information is the modern, official LDS Church version(s) of the past.
