“In 1967 The Metropolitan Museum of Art understood the relatively common nature of the [Book of Abraham] scrolls, and therefore had no problem releasing the papyrus to the LDS Church, knowing it was extremely important to Mormon history. If the papyrus was actually written by the hand of Abraham they would have never released it, as there are no known writings available in Abraham’s handwriting.”
